NFTs Aren’t Dead: Snoop Dogg’s Telegram Drop Proves It

Snoop Dogg Sells out NFT Collection in 30 minutes.

Snoop Dogg sells nearly 1 million NFT’s in just 30 minutes.

American rapper Snoop Dogg just proved that NFTs aren’t dead. He sold nearly 1 million of them in just 30 minutes on Telegram!

The new collection, made up of about 996,000 NFTs, is built on the TON blockchain and made $12 million in sales, according to Telegram founder.

Pavel Durov said the collection was “inspired by Snoop’s iconic style,” and added that people will be able to trade or mint them on the blockchain in 21 days. “It’s going to be wild,” he said.

The collection includes all kinds of fun items like vintage cars, swag bags, a digital dog, marijuana-themed objects, and other cool symbols. These NFTs, called Telegram Gifts, are animated images that users can show on their profiles or turn into Telegram’s in-app currency.

Snoop Dogg also released a new track titled “Gifts” and a music video showcasing all the available collectibles.

A Long History in the NFT Space

While the overall NFT market has taken a hit, sales have dropped 41% in the past month to just over $403 million, and transactions are down more than 55%, according to CryptoSlam. Snoop is still going strong in the space.

He’s been active in the NFT world since it went mainstream in 2021. In June 2023, he launched the Snoop Dogg Passport Series, which gave NFT holders access to special content like behind-the-scenes videos and photos.

Before that, in February 2022, he teamed up with The Sandbox metaverse to release The Doggies, another NFT collection that let fans join him in the virtual world.
