What Revolutions Happened in Crypto Yesterday?

What Really Happened in Crypto Yesterday

Hey there, crypto enthusiasts! Welcome to Coin Medium’s daily dispatch of what happened in crypto yesterday. From digital dollars to blockchain breakthroughs and a sprinkle of political drama, we’ve got what happened in crypto yesterday.

Sweden Lawmakers Push for a National Bitcoin Stash

Two Swedish parliament members are pushing for a proposal to explore a national Bitcoin reserve.

Sweden Democrats Dennis Dioukarev and David Perez pitched the idea to the Riksdag on Wednesday, arguing it’s a savvy way to combat inflation and diversify the country’s assets.

They’re urging Sweden to join the “digital arms race,” pointing to nations like the U.S. that are already stacking Bitcoin.

The duo also made it clear: no funny business with the central bank’s monetary policy, signaling a firm “no thanks” to central bank digital currencies (CBDCs).

Telegram Revolution that Happened in Crypto Yesterday

Wallet in Telegram, the platform’s third-party crypto wallet, has teamed up with Kraken and Backed to roll out tokenized versions of U.S. equities.

This includes 60 major stocks, including MicroStrategy (MSTR) and Nvidia (NVDA), now accessible via xStocks.

The rollout is starting small in select markets to gauge user vibes, with a sharp focus on compliance, according to a Wallet spokesperson.

Initially available in Telegram’s custodial Wallet, the service is set to expand to the self-custodial TON Wallet later this year, with a full-on launch planned for Q4. Get ready to trade stocks with a crypto twist!

Bitcoin Soars Past $121,000, Ether Shines Amid U.S. Shutdown Chaos

The crypto markets are stealing the spotlight as the U.S. grapples with day two of a partial government shutdown.

Bitcoin surged to $121,000 on Thursday, its highest mark since mid-August, while Ethereum climbed above $4,500, hitting a three-week peak.

Despite the U.S. government’s funding stalemate causing headaches for federal workers, history suggests shutdowns aren’t a death knell for risk assets like crypto.

From Sweden’s Bitcoin ambitions to Telegram’s tokenized stock game and a market rally amid political gridlock, the crypto world never sleeps.

That’s the wrap on what happened in crypto yesterday folks! What’s got your attention today? Let us know, and we’ll be back with more Monday!
