BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF Sees $292M Outflow

BlackRock Bitcoin ETF outflow

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) saw $292.5 million in outflows on Monday, marking its biggest single-day withdrawal in two months. This follows a smaller outflow on Friday, which ended a 37-day streak of continuous inflows.

The pullback came as Bitcoin dropped over the weekend, falling 8.5% from its July 14 all-time high to hit $112,300 on Sunday. It later rebounded slightly, reaching around $115,000 by late Monday.

Despite this recent dip, the outflow is minor compared to IBIT’s strong July performance, when it brought in a net $5.2 billion, about 9% of its total inflows since launching in January 2024.

U.S.-listed spot Bitcoin ETFs have now logged their third straight day of net outflows. On Monday, Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) saw $40 million pulled, while Grayscale’s Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) lost $10 million. Most other ETFs reported no activity, except for Bitwise’s BITB, which brought in a modest $18.7 million in inflows.

While the trend of outflows continues, the pace has slowed. Monday’s total was far less severe than Friday’s sharp $812 million sell-off, as Bitcoin found support around the $112,000 level and began to recover.

BlackRock Leads as Institutional Crypto Inflows

Despite recent ETF outflows, institutional interest in digital assets is growing in 2025. According to Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas, digital assets and hedge funds have gained market share this year, even as the private asset boom begins to slow.

A Bloomberg report highlighted that digital assets are now the fastest-growing segment within the alternatives market. As of July 22, the category had already seen $60 billion in inflows, well on its way to matching last year’s record $85 billion.

Bitcoin has become noticeably less volatile since the launch of U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, according to Bloomberg’s Eric Balchunas. On Monday, he noted that the 90-day rolling volatility for BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has fallen below 40 for the first time, down from over 60 when ETFs debuted in January 2024.
