Eric Trump Triumphs as Ethereum Surges 30%

Eric Trump took to social media to exhibit his foresight in the cryptocurrency market, as Ethereum (ETH) surpassed $3,800 amid a broader month-long rally. This marked a 30% gain from the time he publicly endorsed the asset in early February.

The son of the U.S. President Donald Trump revisited a February 4 post on X, in which he urged his followers to “buy ETH.”

Despite skepticism and mockery in the months that followed, particularly during ETH’s drawdown in March, Trump now appears vindicated.

Trump’s post included a meme of a mic-dropping minion, alongside a retweet of his original February call to action. At the time, ETH was trading around $2,877.

Volatility Tests Investors’ Patience

Trump’s crypto call wasn’t without turbulence. In the four weeks following his post, ETH plunged nearly 49%, testing the conviction of those who bought in.

Yet the asset has since recovered and is now up 12% year-to-date, boosted by renewed investor interest and growing institutional exposure.

Some analysts remain bullish. For example, technical analyst Gert van Lagen drew comparisons between ETH’s current price pattern and the Dow Jones Industrial Average in the 1980s, suggesting the token could reach $8,000 by early 2026 if it completes its projected long-term bullish breakout.

Trump Family’s Growing Crypto Footprint

The Trump family’s involvement in crypto has deepened over the past year.

President Donald Trump himself has disclosed significant holdings in digital assets, and his media company Trump Media and Technology Group announced that it holds approximately $2 billion in Bitcoin and related securities as part of its expanding crypto strategy.

The company has raised $2.5 billion and indicated further Bitcoin purchases are likely, depending on market conditions.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump are co-founders of American Bitcoin, which has raised $220 million from institutional investors to acquire both Bitcoin and mining infrastructure.

All three Trump sons are also listed as co-founders of World Liberty Financial, where their father is named “co-founder emeritus.”
