Nicolas Julia, CEO of fantasy sports crypto platform Sorare, said he remains confident in Ethereum despite the company’s decision to migrate to Solana, a shift he described as an “upgrade.”
Sorare announced last Thursday that it will transition from Ethereum after six years, citing Solana’s scalability and its strong consumer-focused ecosystem. The migration will include more than 10 sports games and their associated trading cards.
Julia told Cointelegraph that Solana stands out as the leading blockchain in the fantasy sports crypto market, outperforming others in revenue, active users, developer activity, and total value locked. He acknowledged that while Solana is more centralized than Ethereum, its emphasis on scalability and security makes it the most practical option.
Julia added that Solana’s rising adoption confirms Sorare’s choice. “This bet was the right one,” he said, noting that the network has achieved remarkable growth despite launching five years after Ethereum. The full migration is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
Sorare to Keep Supporting Ethereum Users After Migration
Despite moving to Solana, Sorare CEO Nicolas Julia said the company remains confident in the Ethereum ecosystem.
“We remain very bullish on it. Sorare will continue supporting Ethereum users through integration with the Base network and will still accept Ether (ETH) deposits.”

Sorare, which has grown to 5 million users and reached a $4.3 billion valuation in October 2021, joins several major crypto projects that have shifted blockchains to sustain growth. Other leading protocols, such as decentralized exchange aggregator 1inch and crypto indexing platform The Graph, have also migrated from Ethereum to Solana in recent years.
Sorare Aims to Go Multi-Chain with Layer0 Integration
Despite the move to Solana, Nicolas said Sorare is also exploring other high-speed blockchains that could further expand its sports trading card platform.
Julia insist that the team has evaluated several options and will continue monitoring the progress of high-performance blockchains such as Sui and Aptos, while maintaining confidence in Solana’s current direction.
As part of its plan to become chain-agnostic and tap into the advantages of multiple ecosystems, Sorare is integrating Layer0 to enable seamless marketplace payments across both Solana and Base networks.
