That’s right. The U.S. Treasury is planning something humongous for America’s 250th birthday bash in 2026 and be assured that it’s not just another memecoin.
A legit, commemorative one dollar coin that features president Donald J. Trump’s face is in the works.

On October 3, 2025 U.S. Treasurer Steve Guest took to social media to share a sneak peek renderings of this patriotic coin.

“ATTENTION ALL PATRIOTS… @POTUS @realDonaldTrump will forever be the face of America’s 250th Birthday!,” he said.
The Treasury was quick to clarify that these are just early drafts, and no final design has been locked in yet.
But boy, did it create a buzz. Imagine Donald Trump’s iconic side profile gracing the front of the coin, with “Liberty” up top, “In God We Trust” below, and the years 1776–2026 to mark the occasion.
Flip it over, and there’s Trump raising his fist in that unforgettable moment from the Butler, Pennsylvania, assassination attempt. The words “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT” scream across the top, with a star-spangled American flag waving proudly behind him.
It’s brash, it’s dramatic it’s so authentically Trump!
Wait. There’s a Catch!
However, minting a coin with a living or recently deceased president’s face is a big no-no under U.S. law. The rules say you can’t slap a current or former president’s face on a coin until at least two years after they’ve left this world.
So, is this coin destined for the history books or just a flashy draft that’ll never see the light of day? That’s the million-dollar question!
Having said that, the US Treasury’s got some loophole thanks to the Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act, which greenlights special $1 coins for America’s big 2-5-0.
But the law’s also crystal clear: no head-and-shoulders portraits of anyone whether living or dead to be slapped on the back of these coins.
So, will Donald Trump’s fist-pumping moment make the cut, or is it too hot for the mint to handle? I guess we will have to wait and see.
