Tron has joined the Agentic AI Foundation to support the development and adoption of AI agents.
In an announcement Monday, Tron DAO said the network has become a member of the foundation and will serve on its governing board.
The DAO said the growth of agentic AI is expected to generate a large number of automated transactions, requiring infrastructure capable of processing continuous, high-volume, and low-value payments efficiently.
Focus on open infrastructure for AI agents
Tron DAO said interoperable frameworks will be important to ensure AI agents can operate across different platforms and services without creating fragmented ecosystems.
The foundation is operated by the Linux Foundation and aims to promote open-source development of agentic AI while creating industry standards for governance, safety and interoperability.
Other organizations involved in the initiative include Circle and JPMorgan Chase.
AI becomes key focus for Tron in 2026
Tron founder Justin Sun recently said artificial intelligence will be a major focus for the network in 2026. He argued that Tron’s fast transaction speeds, scalability, and low fees make it suitable for handling AI-driven transactions.
One example is the Bank of AI project developed by AINFT, which launched on Tron and BNB Chain earlier this year to provide a financial layer designed for AI agents.
According to data from DefiLlama, Tron currently leads all blockchains in revenue generated over the past 24 hours, seven days and 30 days.
Sun said part of that growth is driven by activity related to AI systems operating on the network.
